About Cal Squash

There are four parts to the Cal Squash community

1. Cal Men's and Women's Teams

The Cal men's and women's squash teams practice throughout the school year and play matches against other universities. The teams are part of the Collegiate Squash Association. The teams play universities on the West Coast, and also travel once or twice a year to play matches on the East Coast. The season culminates with the Collegiate Nationals Tournament held either at Harvard, Yale or Princeton. Team practices are held three times a week.

2. Cal Box League

The Cal Squash Box League is for players of all levels. Participants play against other players in their 'box'. Most players try to play one match per week.

3. Local League Teams

The Cal Squash community participates in the local squash leagues. Typically Cal has two teams. One plays in the East Bay Squash League, the other plays in the San Francisco Squash League. Players in these leagues are at the 4.0+ level. Any RSF member who plays at that level or above can join the team.

4. Alumni

The Cal Squash Club has an active alumni base. The alums gather twice a year to renew old friendships and to watch local events. The alumni also form a team and play the current Cal team each year in the annual 'Alumni Match'.
